Cryo Recovery

It is crucial to be able to feel and function like your normal self again as soon as possible following an injury, a surgery, or a trip overseas. By accelerating the recovery process, you will be able to become your normal self very quickly.

Cryotherapy is effective rehab methods after an injury or surgery and can assist in reducing inflammations, bruising, swelling, blueness, swelling, rashes and redness by increasing blood flow, accelerating wound healing, and reducing inflammation, bruising, swelling, and blueness.

Also, cryotherapy may be able to help you recover from hangovers and jet lag symptoms, which will make it the ultimate all-around recovery treatment.

Following surgery or an accident it’s normal for people to experience pain and inflammation. It’s part of the healing process. While the red and white blood cells are needed at the point of injury/surgery to fight infection and deliver much needed care, often the fluids surrounding those cells get in the way causing pressure, stagnation and pain.

Exposing your body to extremely cold temperatures for a short period of time which can decrease and redistribute those fluids, allowing circulation to improve for toxins to be flushed out and filtered, oxygen-rich blood to flow through to the muscles and joints. It can provide a safe and natural way of decreasing inflammation while accelerating the healing of damaged soft tissue and sore joints. Think of it as an extreme version of an ice pack or ice bath but faster, more efficient and way more comfortable.

It is during a Localised Cryotherapy treatment that cold vapour is used to deliver hyper cooling to specific areas of the body, such as the knees, hips, elbows, shoulders, and back. The dry cold is soothing to the skin, and the relief that it offers to muscle spasms, aching joints, and inflamed tissues is immediate.

The treatment takes between five and ten minutes to complete. By using cryogenically cooled air that penetrates deeper into the layers of tissue, as well as by increasing blood circulation, localised cryotherapy can be used to alleviate pain, inflammation and speed up the healing process following an injury.

Most people can do a cryotherapy session. There are people who aren’t allowed to use cryotherapy, such as those with uncontrolled hypertension or a pacemaker, those with deep vein thrombosis, those with a cold allergy, or those who are pregnant. Prior to using a °CRYO treatment, if you are unsure whether you are at any risk, you should ask your healthcare provider for more information

Your results will vary depending on your goals. For maximum benefit, you should be able to see results within two to three treatments a week.

°CRYO cannot guarantee that any of our clients will see specific results. We are confident however, that you will immediately feel a sense of well-being following your first treatment because the body’s natural mood elevator, endorphins, will release over the course of your treatment, so you may feel a sense of well-being for several hours afterward. Your physical condition will determine how quickly you feel relief from joint and muscle pain, increased energy, and an increase in flexibility. Some of these symptoms can last several hours or even days, depending on your physical condition.

°CRYO treatment does not require any particular regime to be followed prior to the treatment.

It is important to keep your body hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

Every °CRYO session can be beneficial, but we also recommend our clients consider one of our membership packages or memberships to reap the maximum benefits.

Our recommendation is that the series be repeated every three months as a maintenance program. A professional athlete is most likely to have between four and six sessions per week to help achieve their peak performance during times of intense training.
